Really great article and amazing images. You have mastered your favorite season. I love winter as well, not only for the amazing light that can be found, but also for the solitude in places that would normally be crowded with people and visual distractions.
Thank you for sharing. And your dedication to detail as well written words of how and when you took your winter photographs. It takes discipline to keep going outside stretching your abilities, pushing your body standing in wait for that magical event of taking a dream picture. I was awed at every single one...gorgeous, beautiful, wow, awesome!!
Love Bens photos and words of wisdom. Winter light is the best, but wow it can be cold to work in. Especially early morning. I forward this article to my nephew in Kodiak AK to encourage him. I hope he gets it.
That's so cool to know that this article is going to Alaska, where it might be put to good use. Thank you for sharing and thank you for the kind words, Bill.
Nothing different to worry about. Cameras do just fine in cold weather. Mostly it’s your hands you need to worry about. Heavy mittens. No fingerless gloves.
Winter is also my absolute favorite season. The Wisconsin sunsets are stunners with their blue/pink hues. The white contrasting with pops of color. I love these photos you shared and feel inspired to get outside and hunt for things, despite a lack of snow here.
I'm finding that as old age creeps up on me, I'm going outside less and less into the snow. A pity, really. I haven't taken a winter shot in at least two years.
It's all good, Ken. You have to know what you like and what motivates you to go out. I know it's not the same for everyone. Thank you for the kind words.
Fantastic!
Fabulous! Thank you for sharing with us!
Impressive shot! I love your photographs, especially hoar frost and red-on-white theme ✨
Learn a lot from your technique.
All so beautiful.
Amazing photos... love the lighthouses ... all are great! Thanks for sharing these!

That's a huge factor, too! Right on, James.

Come visit me in Round pond sometime
Amazing captures. Can you comment on the equipment you use and how you take care of it in the cold weather of these shots?

Awesome! I hope you get some snow soon. Either way, glad to hear you'll be getting out.

Gorgeous work and fantastic inspiration for all of us to take advantage of the winter!
My pleasure, Nick! Thank you.
